breath deep

Why yes my darlings, this picture above is of my math notes. 

I am currently in summer school for college algebra. It is a 5 week course with an exam every Monday that covers 3 chapters. No fear though my friends, I have received a D on my first one and the notes pictured above I will get tested on tomorrow. 

Math is just one of those things where no matter how hard I study, how many hours I spend doing homework or being in the tutoring center, the countless frustrated tears I shed I just don't get it. In all honesty I am truly fearful that I may not pass this class. The pressure of this is unbearable, because I cost me 1,200 dollars for my to take this one class. If I don't pass this the first time around then that was a waste of 1,200 dollars that I didn't even have in the first place. That is a LOT of money. 

Everyday I wake up early to go to class. I honestly feel like I am back in elementary school;  trying desperately to make sense of all the information being fed to me but no matter how I piece it together it just doesn't connect in any way.  I can't tell you how frustrating this is for me. 

After spending the weekend with Ryan and having him point out that I need to stop seeing the negative in everything. I need to be mature about things and face them head on for what the are. I don't intentionally do this, but do find myself doing it more often than not. 

I'm so thankful for Ryan and my Mother. Their words and love help me get through life when I feel like sometimes I just can't bare it any more. 

"Take a deep breath and look at all the things you have accomplished," they tell me. Writing out an, "I'm grateful list" and looking at all the beautiful things in life that get over look so easily. 

The warmth and pure hearted look in the eyes of a young child. 

The smile from one stranger to another.

The story behind that elderly woman at the grocery store, or who drives so cautiously in front of you. 

The glow of a new mother or newly engaged couple.

The beauty of the amazing creation around us.

The idea that you've been granted a life for a purpose, though we may not know it yet. 

Knowing that God's love for you is over powering, all knowing, and never ending.

Take a deep  breath my darling,

Know that you are loved and your world is filled with beauty.

I don't know how many of you are coffee nuts like me

Usually I stick to my own self brewed cups but here and there I will do a swing by starbucks for a tall something or other. (I find myself doing it a lot more lately since my espresso maker isn't working and I can't figure out how to fix it :( 

My friend Joanna's sister used to work at a starbucks in Chicago and would always bring back the left over baked goods.The banana bread, lemon bars, and these cake pops (pictured above) are my favorite! I don't know what it is but their cake pops are amazing! I've tried making my own but they just don't turn out like the starbucks one.

Hair was pin curled when it was wet, after waking up and taking the pins out I put ZERO product in my hair. 

To do the style I just started with a poof and then just twister every other piece over itself. Message me if you have any further questions.

So life is going pretty well I would say. I love my job and I just got another one teaching a dance fitness, I start next Wednesday! I'm excited and kind of nervous at the same time. If any of you are in the Southern Utah area and want to take my class, Wednesday's at 9pm, message me and I will give you all the information. 

I am still really struggling in my dumb math class though. I'm not going to lie I'm kind of afraid I might not pass. I have a lot of work ahead of me these next couple of weeks. 

I've been in a pretty good place this week though. I feel really happy and just content with life. For some reason though, all I want to do is eat junk food and lay in bed. I'm constantly exhausted but I can never sleep. I'm taking all my medications and vitamins but I still feel so sluggish. I know it's a pretty common feeling but it's making me a bit uneasy for some reason.

I'm almost done with the third hunger games book. I'm not very happy with the way it is turning out though. I'm look for some other books to read this summer though. Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Alright, this one is from a while ago. To be honest I'm not sure if I posted it already or not. I still have some of the pictures on my phone that got erased from my computer, but I can't get my computer to take them. Phoowey. 

I'm still loving my job, and just got offered another job working as a dance fitness instructor! I'm so excited! The two jobs that I really wanted! 

Don't get me wrong, I had to put my time and patience in before getting them.

Can't wait though! I will give you more details later!

darn technology

So I had probably two weeks worth of outfits and a hair mask tutorial that I had just downloaded onto my computer the other day ... I went to do a post and all the pictures are gone! The folder is there, but all the pictures inside it are gone.

God's wonders

Patience is definitely something I have been struggling with lately. 

I have been so immensely blessed though and can't believe some of the amazing things God has put in my life. I have an awesome new roommate who I've become close friends with, and we have a blast together. Currently we are looking for a new place to live because the place we are in just isn't cutting it, and our feelings about it are mutual. I think that God brought us here together though, when I really needed a friend ... He always provides. We have our eyes on a few different places. God gave me the skill to read people very well, even just over the phone. Though I do sometimes find myself being too trusting, I just want to believe that all people are nice and have everyone else best interest in mind. Very naive of me I know. While looking for a new place, we thought we had found the perfect one (super cheap and decently looking) but I was having very uneasy feelings about the whole thing. Good thing for google man! I found out that it was entirely a scam and we would have lost $500. 

No need to worry though, because God has other things in store for us. We are hopefully going to set up a meeting next week and get everything finalized for fall. It is a beautiful place and in our price rage...we just need to find one more room mate. This is a bit daunting but I have no doubt that it will work out. 

Also, after waiting for so long I finally got that job that I really wanted. I am not working in a retail store. FASHION! I love it! I have my first day yesterday and I know I can already say that I have pretty much the best job ever. My manager is such a doll and all the girls that work there are super sweet and didn't hesitate at all in welcoming me on to the team. I have a lot of learning to do still but I can't wait to get started and dive in head first. 

I wanted to share some pictures I took of the solar eclipse that happened a few days ago. Ryan and I were walking into Cafe Rio and these guys just gave us the special glasses and some space  blanket so we could actually look at it. It was so cool! It probably wont happen again for another 1000 or something years ... crazy right?! 

No fear if you missed it though! I think I got some really awesome pictures!

Later this month too is when all the planets are supposed to be in alignment. That will be really cool to see too (thought I am a bit nervous about all the effects the gravity pull is going to cause to natural disaster type things here on earth). 

The pictures are dark because we had to take them through the paper ... it was basically like taking a picture of the sun.

camping trip

Hello my darlings!!

So this weekend, for memorial day weekend, I went on a camping trip with Ryan and his family to Pangitch, Utah. Basically the farthest place you would never find a city girl. I got a little sick the first day because of the altitude and such, we were about 10,000 plus feet, but my body adapted pretty quickly. We did all kinds of fun things; four wheeling, fishing, camp firers, s'mores, shooting/hunting (I just shoot at targets not the animals), shopping, eating, and all kinds of games. It was SO much fun!! I have never seen so much free open space before in my life! It was all so beautiful and the air was so fresh. Being up so high though it stayed around 30-40 degrees during the day, colder at night, and it was super windy for 3 out of the 4 days we were there. We didn't let that stop us though!
