When One Door Closes Another Opens

Well my dearies 

It is coming to the end of my first semester of my sophomore year

It feels like it's been 10 years since I graduated high school

Looking back I feel like college is going to take foreeeeVer

>for full affect pronounce forever as done in sand lot<

but looking forward I'm afraid it is going far too fast

Next semester I have a few more gen eds 

and then on to the fun stuff

Graphic Design

{I have a lot of work to learn all these technology gadgets and what not}

Tomorrow I have

two presentations and turn in a paper

... and then packing!! ... 

I know what you're thinking.

And I will have you know that every time I go home I take only one carry on bag

[that is VERY impressive my friends]

This trip home I need to pack even lighter though

mostly because more than half of my suite case will be filled with Santa gifts

Any who I am SOOO excited to go home and see my friends

It's crazy too though

In college the start of each semester is kind of like freshman year of high school all over again

You kind of have an idea of what you're doing

but not really

You have totally new classes with all new people

Some of your friends transfer or move

All new people and professors

... I don't know maybe it's just me ...

Cedar is getting colder now

I woke up this morning at 6 am

It was dark outside still.

not just any kind of dark but straight up night time dark

I even saw a garbage truck on the way too school

that's when you know you are up far to early

Walking to my car I could smell the pines coming off the mountain

Driving to school with my lip stick stained coffee cup and jammin to some 

indy folk music

Going to take a stats exam was just about the last thing I wanted to be doing

BUT

I think I did pretty good so I'm fairly happy

I even made some new friends with the cowboys that sit in the back of the room

We studied in the library together and decided

in honor of the last day of class

We would all wear our western wear

[well they would wear their real stuff and I'de be a poser]

It was still fun

After a long day of studying and editing 

I finally got some down time

Tomorrow is our pole Holiday show

If I were to tell you I'm not nervous

I'de be fibbing

More than half of my routine is improv 

So fingers crossed that my hands don't sweat and it looks somewhat decent

no pain no game ... you can see the pole in my bruise!

if that's not baller I don't know what is

{it's behind my knee for those of you who are stuggling}

Next week is finals week

then off to Chicago !!!

On a super exciting note though 

I am one step closer to finally declaring residency

to the most beautiful place I have ever been

I got my Utah license today!!  

I only got one question wrong on the test and I didn't even use the book

if you knew me and driving and our relationship

you would understand that this is quiet the accomplishment 

 seeing as we do not usually get along  

We have just a few 

{by few I actually mean loads and tons ... but a few sounds much better in my head}

more things to do before I head home 

to the beautiful city

and celebrate my favorite holiday ever

[still so many present deliveries!]

 Because of finals week I have been trying to avoid facebook as much as I can

Unfortunately all it has now just switched pinterest     

I don't know how many of you pinterest

but it is a very bad addiction

People always say you can learn a lot about a girl by looking through her ipod

It makes the perfect vintage art work while still being sentimental

'tis the season

It's December !!

Do you know what that means?!

The happiest time of the year

The time where strangers do kind gestures for other strangers for no apparent reason

The time when stores play nothing but Christmas Songs

When houses and towns are covered in twinkle lights and it's a winter wonder land

It's the time of year where I can be my happy self and people don't accuse me of being on drugs

The time of year where I spend absolutely no money on my self, even if that means going hungry a few meals, so I can get my friends beautiful gift to let them know how much I love and care for them

I already have all of my gifts wrapped and ready for delivery

.... well almost all of them ....

If my house had Internet you can bet your butt that pandora would be playing nothing but Christmas music all the time

I don't know what it is about Christmas

I just love everything about it

and being in Cedar it's literally a winter wonder land

There is just so much I love about Christmas:

The smell of pines trees

Peppermint anything

Hot cocoa, tea or coffee at every and any hour

Christmas cookies and ginger bread houses

Twinkle lights inside and outside the house

Big sweaters, boots, scarves and hats

Mistletoe above the door

-I'll take the action I can get here-

Speaking of action

The only thing I am missing this holiday season is a holiday honey

I wish that I had someone I could spend a lazy Saturday with:

In the morning waking up in my Christmas Jammie's

 and wake him up with breakfast in bed

Dance around the house in my underwear

Spend all day cuddling and watching movies sipping hot cocoa

Spoiling him with presents that are weird but hilarious and no one would really understand but us

Doing nothing all day but play games and and messing around
Loving and spoiling him to endless amounts

Sitting by a fire eating chinese food out of the boxes and drinking wine out of tea cups

Maybe a snowball fight

Or riding around town with absolutely no destination but ending in the mountain somewhere

(in a big lifted truck)

Then fall asleep in the middle of no where under the giant bright Utah moon

-which for some reason looks so much bigger here-

Alright all my over achieving lovelies

I am super excited about it too

Graphic Design 

with a minor in Public Relations

        

I can pretty much do anything I want with it

[anything from even planning ... window displays ... store layouts ... interior design ... cards/invites]

Basically it covers me all across the board

I only have like two and half more weeks until it's time for me to head back home to

CHICAGO

for my favorite holiday of all time

CHRISTMAS

I have so much stuff I have to do in those two weeks though

when I think about it ... it's enough to make me sick  

I am just beyond distracted

I have slowly been chipping away 

at my *never ending* to do list

I pray to God for strength and focus 

To make it through these next couple of weeks

I know most of you reading this are probably in the same spot as me
